A day on the water testing the Minn Kota Riptide Terrova 87” shaft unit with the all-new PowerCat 2400 Pioneer Series.

We spent the day on the water with The Captain Magazine testing out the 2400 Pioneer Series PowerCat accompanied with a Minn Kota Riptide Terronova 87″ Shaft Unit. Enjoying a cruise through Moreton Bay with our final destination being the Tangalooma Wrecks on Moreton Island it turned out to be a superb day, especially for a work day!

We thoroughly enjoyed putting the new Minn Kota through it’s paces on the 2400 series. We did expect them both to perform well, however we were surprised. The results were beyond our expectations. The maneuverability and precison is what you would expect of a smaller boat in an estuary environment however the Minn Kota & 2400 series combination delivered exactly that but in an off-shore environment which certainly seemed to turn heads.

As the wind gradually picked up, we were grateful we could test the Spot-Lock features the Minn Kota has to offer. when navigating or following our set GPS pathes, the Minn Kota Minimized boat sway and kept our path and nose on an exceptionally accurate trajectory. It defiantely has the strength to withstand bigger swells, wind and current which is a A+ in our books. The days of anchors and lead weights may very well become obsolete!

“The functionality and precision of the Riptide Terrova 87” shaft unit is simply mind blowing. It seems to handle these larger boats with ease.”

With a 500m memory range, and up to 6 targets/spots capbility it makes fishing and manuevering a breeze.
