Permanent Part-Time – 23 hours per week
This position may suit someone looking for consistent school-hours-style employment while still wanting to be genuinely involved in a growing Australian marine business.
Hours:
Monday–Thursday: 9:00am–2:00pm
Friday: 9:00am–12:00pm
About the Role
Powercat Marine is looking for a friendly, organised and capable Administration & Customer Service Coordinator to become a central part of our day-to-day operations.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys dealing with people, is comfortable with computers and administration, and doesn’t mind jumping in wherever they’re needed.
One minute you may be answering a customer enquiry or processing a payment, the next updating a booking, preparing some paperwork, posting content to social media or helping make sure the showroom is looking its best.
We’re not looking for someone who wants to sit behind a desk and say, “That’s not my job.” We’re looking for a genuine all-rounder who takes pride in helping the business run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Answering incoming phone calls and directing enquiries
Reception and front-of-house duties
Greeting and assisting customers
Responding to general customer enquiries
Taking and processing customer payments
Managing customer and service bookings
Basic Xero administration and accounts-related tasks
Data entry, filing and general office administration
Preparing and maintaining documents, spreadsheets and records
Using Microsoft Office, email and other business systems
Assisting the team with general administrative requirements
Posting approved content across Powercat Marine’s social media channels
Writing and refining basic social media captions and content
Using AI tools such as ChatGPT to assist with administration and content creation
Learning to take quality photos and basic content of Powercat boats, workshop activity, builds, deliveries and day-to-day operations
Maintaining presentation of the reception, office and showroom areas
Light cleaning, tidying and general showroom presentation
Assisting other areas of the business when required
About You
We’re looking for someone who is professional, presentable, approachable, reliable and comfortable dealing with customers from all walks of life.
You’ll need to be confident using a computer, have good written and verbal communication skills, and be willing to learn the systems and processes we use.
You don’t need to be a photographer, social media expert or AI guru. What’s more important is being willing to learn and having enough initiative to give things a go.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Previous administration, reception or customer service experience
Strong telephone and face-to-face communication skills
Good computer and typing skills
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with Xero or similar accounting software, or the ability to learn
Good organisation and attention to detail
Confidence handling customer payments and information
Good written English and the ability to communicate professionally
An interest in learning social media and basic content creation
A practical attitude and willingness to help wherever required
The ability to work independently once trained
Experience in the marine industry is not required but certainly would be advantageous. An interest in boats would certainly help, but we’re more interested in finding the right person.
